Common questions about jobsite video
What does jobsite video production cost?
We scope it on the strategy call and price it up front, with travel included. The drivers are how many site visits you want, how many finished videos come out of each one, and whether you want us posting the content too. One-off shoots and month-to-month partnerships both work.
How far do you travel from Fort Mill, SC?
The Charlotte metro — Fort Mill, Rock Hill, Charlotte, Concord, Gastonia, Monroe — is a day trip. Beyond that we travel coast to coast and have filmed in twenty states across more than 140 locations. Travel and lodging are built into the scope, so the drive time is our problem, not your invoice line.
Is your crew safe and covered on an active jobsite?
Our crew is OSHA 10 certified and shows up in full PPE — boots, vest, hard hat, glasses. CDS Visuals carries general liability and workers’ compensation coverage, and we can send a certificate of insurance naming your GC or owner before we mobilize. Send us your site rules and we follow them.
Will filming slow my crew down?
No. We shoot the work as it happens and stay out of the swing radius. Yancey Bros. Co. said they sometimes had to go looking for our crew because we just kind of fit in. If a task cannot be interrupted, we shoot around it. Weather reschedules are penalty-free — it comes with the territory and we plan for it.
Can you fly a drone over our site?
Our pilots are FAA Part 107 certified and we handle airspace authorizations where they are required. If your GC, owner, or site has specific documentation or coverage requirements for aerial work, tell us on the strategy call and we will confirm exactly what we can provide before the shoot day.
How many videos come out of one site visit?
A production day typically yields a main jobsite video, four or more vertical social cuts, and a set of edited photos. Recurring visits stack into progress films and time-lapse pieces. Everything is tagged in your library, so a clip from March is findable in seconds in November.
Do you shoot photography too?
Yes — jobsite photography comes off the same shoot days as the video, so a site visit hands back edited stills alongside the films. We don’t sell photography on its own; it is part of what a production day produces, and the photos land in the same library as everything else.
Who owns the footage?
You do, forever. Every finished video, still, graphic, and raw file lives in your library and stays there whether or not we keep working together. C.W. Matthews’ training and recruitment director said the library is what they go into every week.
